Tax Analyst

The Tax Analyst role, reporting to the Lead/Manager, involves comprehending Sales & Use tax transactions and filing tax returns for US states. Collaborating with the team and partners, you will strive to meet goals and deadlines, while also identifying opportunities to enhance processes. Furthermore, providing customer support and ensuring accurate Sales & Use tax return filings will be a key aspect of your responsibilities. Utilize technology to optimize return preparation and filing processes, all while maintaining precise records. Manage client expectations, troubleshoot issues, and validate transactional data. Demonstrate expertise in Sales & Use tax, conduct team sessions, and offer guidance. Maintain client and filing calendars to ensure timely updates. Prepare month-end reports, conduct reconciliations, and manage pre/post-filing tasks as assigned. Identify areas for improvement in compliance processes, streamline tasks, and propose solutions. Collaborate with the team to foster a culture of unity. Engage in process enhancements, handle ad-hoc projects, and support automation initiatives to drive efficiency. To excel in this role, you should possess a strong understanding of the SUT domain, with over 3 years of experience in multi-jurisdictional sales and use tax preparation and filing. Experience in customer interaction and handling sensitive data, specifically in the US region, is crucial. A postgraduate degree such as an MBA in Finance or M.Com is preferred. Proficiency in advanced Microsoft Office skills, including Excel, Access, pivot tables, VLOOKUP, and HLOOKUP, is required.
