Position Overview: We are looking for a highly motivated and detail-oriented Junior Analyst to join our team, specializing in the extraction and curation of covenant data from various legal documents, including credit agreements, bonds, and indentures. This role presents an excellent opportunity for recent graduates eager to dive into financial analysis, legal documentation, and debt instruments. The selected candidate will collaborate closely with senior analysts, contributing to high-quality research that informs investment and credit decision-making. Key Responsibilities: Data Extraction & Curation: Review, extract, and interpret key covenants from credit agreements, bond indentures, and other debt-related documents. Document Review: Analyse and summarize complex legal agreements to identify financial and operational covenants (such as leverage ratios, restricted payments, dividend payments, investments, etc.). Collaboration: Work closely with senior analysts, providing support in covenant interpretation and data curation. Quality Control: Assist in ensuring the quality and consistency of the curated data by cross-checking the extracted information with original documents. Documentation: Maintain detailed records of the reviewed agreements, noting key financial terms, restrictions, and compliance thresholds. Learning & Development: Stay updated on covenant structures, legal frameworks, and the evolving landscape of credit agreements and indentures. Preferred Qualification & Experience: Bachelors degree in finance, Business Administration/ MBA (Finance)/ or a related field. Internship experience in credit, finance, legal research, or investment banking. Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with a keen eye for detail. Familiarity with credit agreements, bond indentures, or covenant analysis (from academic coursework or internships) would be a plus. The candidate will be working on legal and financial documents to extract, analyse, interpret, and standardize complex frameworks, particularly for entities accessing capital and financial markets. Collaborate with cross-functional teams to support client deliveries by defining agreement terms and providing legal insights. Stay up to date with new reporting and disclosure frameworks, assisting in their documentation and transition into templates. Contribute to the overall enhancement of reporting processes and formats to improve efficiency. Other Responsibilities include: - Analyse and interpret legal data related to capital markets, loan agreements, and DRHPs. Develop legal templates and structures, identifying synergies within existing frameworks. Present developments and innovations in document management for capital markets. Familiarize yourself with accounting basics and standard line items. Engage with US clients, which may require working in rotational shifts based on document uploads during night hours. Qualification & Experience: Education: Graduation or post-graduation in Law (LLB, LLM, or integrated B. Com/BBA with LLB). Experience: Prior experience in legal document management and interpretation. Familiarity with legal resources such as Thomson Reuters Practical Law, Law.com, and Law Insider is a plus. Basic understanding of accounting concepts will be advantageous. Skills: Ability to simplify legal terminology for non-experts. Proactive in tracking milestones and KPIs with a data-driven approach. Strong attention to detail, with the ability to handle both independent and collaborative work. Commitment to ethical conduct and active participation in company culture.
