Active Directory (AD):
Managing users, groups, and computer accounts, Group Policy management, troubleshooting AD replication, and ensuring overall AD health and security. DNS (Domain Name System): Configuring and managing DNS zones, records, and forwarders, troubleshooting DNS resolution issues. DHCP (Dynamic Host Configuration Protocol): Configuring and managing DHCP scopes, reservations, and options, troubleshooting DHCP server issues. NPS (Network Policy Server): Implementing and managing network policies, RADIUS authentication and authorization for network access, troubleshooting NPS connectivity issues. Microsoft CA (Certificate Authority): Managing certificate lifecycle, issuing and revoking certificates, configuring certificate templates, and troubleshooting certificate-related issues.
VMware:
Managing and maintaining VMware vSphere environments, including ESXi hosts, virtual machines, resource pools, and VMware tools, troubleshooting VMware issues.
Citrix:
Supporting Citrix Virtual Apps and Desktops (formerly XenApp and XenDesktop), managing Citrix StoreFront, Delivery Controllers, and Citrix policies, troubleshooting Citrix-related issues.
Windows Server Administration:
Managing Windows Server operating systems, applying updates and patches, troubleshooting server issues, and ensuring server performance and security. Remote Access Services: Implementing and managing remote access solutions like Remote Desktop Services (RDS) or Citrix, ensuring secure and reliable remote access for users.
Security:
Implementing and enforcing security policies related to Windows systems, Active Directory, and related services, ensuring compliance with security standards. Monitoring and Troubleshooting: Monitoring the health and performance of the Windows environment, identifying and resolving issues related to AD, DNS, DHCP, NPS, Microsoft CA, VMware, and Citrix, and providing tier 2 and 3 support.
Documentation:
Creating and maintaining documentation for configurations, procedures, and troubleshooting steps related to the Windows environment. Collaboration: Working with other teams (e.g., network, security, applications) to resolve complex issues, implement new technologies, and ensure seamless integration of different systems.
Additional Skills and Knowledge:
Scripting: PowerShell scripting for automation of tasks and system administration. Cloud Technologies: Experience with Azure Virtual Desktop or other cloud-based virtual desktop solutions is a plus. Endpoint Management: Experience with endpoint management and security solutions is beneficial.
