System Performance Engineer

As a Silicon Systems Engineer at Google, you will play a crucial role in developing custom silicon solutions for Google's direct-to-consumer products. You will work alongside a diverse team to innovate and create hardware experiences that enhance the performance, efficiency, and integration of Google's products. Your primary responsibilities will include understanding the hardware and software architecture of System-on-Chip (SoC), optimizing performance and power efficiency, and defining key performance metrics for critical user journey workloads. You will collaborate with Machine Learning System Architects and Software teams to ensure that hardware/software specifications are met and engage with Verification and Validation teams to validate performance metrics. To qualify for this role, you should have a Bachelor's degree in Electronics Engineering, Computer Engineering, or Computer Science, along with at least 4 years of experience working with System Software of Silicon architecture, GPU, and memory subsystem. Experience in power and performance optimization, as well as programming skills in Python, C, or C++, are also required. Preferred qualifications include a Master's degree in a related field, experience in system hardware/software design for power, performance, and thermal optimization, familiarity with mobile SoC architecture, and knowledge of AI/ML or Large Language Model (LLM) on edge devices.
