Technical Writer Swimlane is looking for a detail-oriented and technically proficient Technical Writer to join our team in Hyderabad, India. This role is critical in developing high-quality, user-focused documentation that enables our customers to effectively deploy, configure, and use Swimlanes low-code security automation platform. Collaborate with engineering, QA, and product management teams to gather technical requirements and validate the accuracy of documentation. Write and structure content using Markdown in a docs-as-code environment. Contribute to documentation workflows by implementing and maintaining automation using GitHub Actions. Participate in information architecture planning, and help improve the usability, structure, and discoverability of documentation. Review and refine UI/UX microcopy (for example, labels, tooltips, in-product text) for clarity, consistency, and alignment with documentation standards. Manage multiple documentation projects concurrently, while maintaining high attention to detail and meeting project deadlines. Incorporate feedback from internal stakeholders and customers to improve documentation. Support legacy content transition and promote best practices in content reuse and template standardization. Required Qualifications: We are looking for someone who doesn t just meet these qualifications but uses them to shape the user experience, influence product direction, and elevate how teams think about documentation. 3-5 years of experience as a technical writer in a fast-growing software or SaaS environment, ideally with experience supporting complex or enterprise-grade products. Track record of thriving in high-velocity, innovation-driven teams able to adapt quickly, deliver under pressure, and drive clarity amid change. Expertise in Markdown for writing structured, maintainable documentation in a docs-as-code environment. Hands-on experience with GitHub and GitHub Actions to contribute directly to automated publishing workflows and content lifecycle management. Proven ability to juggle multiple initiatives, prioritize effectively, and deliver polished content across simultaneous product releases. Exceptional attention to detail, ensuring every sentence reinforces accuracy, consistency, and trust in the product. Fluent, user-first communicator, with excellent written and verbal skills in English and the ability to tailor tone and clarity across audiences. Collaborative mindset, experienced in working closely with cross-functional teams including engineering, QA, and product to build content that reflects real-world use cases and customer needs. Preferred Qualifications: Experience using MadCap Flare, particularly for structured or legacy content management. Familiarity with Python, HTML, or CSS to support content formatting or enhance technical documentation. Experience using MadCap Flare for managing structured or legacy content. Knowledge of structured documentation practices, including content reuse, taxonomy, and modular architecture. Ability to create or annotate visuals using tools such as Snagit or similar. Awareness of accessibility best practices in technical documentation and UI text. Experience reviewing and refining user interface text in collaboration with product and design teams. Initiative to lead documentation projects or processes, and proactively improve tooling or workflows. Experience in reviewing product requirements, architecture and design principles to improve application behaviorand system performance. Expertise in functional and non-functional testing types, including system, integration, scale, HA and reliability. Proficient at least one programming language, such as Java Familiarity with setting up and managing test environments on cloud-based platforms, preferably AWS. Strong understanding of QA, CICD and DevOps methodologies and tools, especially related to AWS. Experience with cloud-native monitoring and logging tools such as New Relic, Datadog, Prometheus. Proficiency with automation tools/frameworks such as TestNG, Junit, Cypress, Karate, Playwright, JMeter Proven record of strong leadership, communication, team development, problem solving and organization skills.
