As a Crude Oil Analyst at our company, your primary responsibilities will include conducting various analyses related to crude oil grades and providing valuable insights to support decision-making processes. You will be accountable for the following activities: To conduct Crude grades Indifference value analysis, which involves sourcing and verifying inputs, conducting LP runs, analyzing and summarizing results, and effectively communicating the findings with crude trading and EPS/IST heads. To conduct Crude grades open case analysis by following a similar process of sourcing and verifying inputs, running LP simulations, analyzing results, and sharing conclusions with crude trading and EPS/IST heads/MD. Evaluating ideal versus actual case analysis for the month, sourcing and verifying inputs, running LP simulations, analyzing results, discussing findings with crude trading, and communicating outcomes with crude trading and EPS/IST heads/MD. Coordinating the technical classification process of crude grades among refinery technical service, IST crude trading, and scheduling groups to ensure accurate classification. Key challenges in this role include managing and analyzing large volumes of data systematically to prevent errors, conducting in-depth data analysis for effective insights, and approaching analyses innovatively to identify opportunity areas from ideal versus actual analysis and open cases. The key decisions you will be responsible for making include indifference analysis, ideal versus actual crude grades analysis, crude grades open case analysis, and crude classification coordination. You will also be expected to provide recommendations to your superior on various aspects such as Crude grades Indifference values, ideal versus actual crude grades, open case analysis, margin improvement opportunities, and crude grades technical classification. In terms of interactions, you will collaborate internally with teams such as Planning, Crude Trading, Product Trading, Marketing, Scheduling, and Refinery technical service. Externally, there are no specified interactions outside the organization. Financial dimensions of the role include working on Crude Indifference valuation, Crude grades open case and Ideal versus actual case analysis, and Crude grades technical classification.
