The role requires you to have a strong understanding of substation design ranging from 66kV to 765 kV AIS and GIS. You will be responsible for various activities related to substation engineering, such as the preparation and review of engineering documents. As a qualified candidate, you should hold a BE or B.Tech. degree in Electrical or Civil Engineering from a reputable university. Additionally, you should possess 5-15 years of experience in substation engineering. Your key competencies should include an advanced level of knowledge in substation engineering and design. You should be familiar with various standards such as IS, IEEE, CBIP, CEA, IEC, as well as national and international codes and regulations. Proficiency in software tools like AutoCAD and MS Office is also required. Your responsibilities will include preparing and reviewing engineering deliverables like design basis reports, detailed engineering drawings, and design calculations for substations. You will also be involved in coordinating with project planning managers to ensure project deliveries align with schedules and costs. Additionally, you will participate in discussions and project review meetings with customers, consultants, and OEMs. Furthermore, you will need to collaborate with internal stakeholders such as electrical, civil, and mechanical engineering teams, project managers, and external agencies for the timely submission and approval of engineering documents. Monitoring engineering document management activities and providing technical support for root cause analysis in case of failures are also part of your responsibilities. Moreover, you will be expected to explore new technology initiatives for asset utilization and cost optimization. Your role will involve staying updated on the latest technological advancements for system improvements while adhering to technical specifications. In addition, you will contribute to engineering process developments, standardization, and document management system enhancements. Prepare the details of steel support structures/gantry/equipment and foundation for the Sub-station equipments. Prepare Architectural drawing, sanitary, Plumbing, door window details of station building/staff quarters etc. Reply to the comments received from client. Expert level knowledge with all of the following: EHV transformers, HV switchgear, HV Reactors/Resistors/Capacitors, CT/VT, Filter banks, Converter Modules Solid Understanding of HVDC/FACTS technologies, main circuit parameters calculation, Insulation co-ordination, fault scenarios. Should be able to mentor junior members of the team. Deep Knowledge about and experience with Testing Techniques of HV components. Progress of project work, Risk analysis for the Equipment department and planning mitigations for them, Conducting Gate reviews. Extensive Experience in understanding and managing complex customer specifications. Expert level Review of multiple projects /tender submission simultaneously due to acquired expertise. Provide oversight of budget for engineering design, commissioning, maintenance, and equipment assessment.
