Structural Engineer

Job Responsibilities

Estimate budgets, apply cost-control strategies, and use project management skills to ensure profitability.

Monitor records of structural stability certifications issued by the principal consultant and third-party agencies.

Update standard formats for DBR (Design Basis Report) as needed.

Review and provide DBR/design data/drawings to third-party designers for validation.

Prepare execution-stage sketches as required.

Apply value engineering principles to solve complex problems at the site level.

Execute the erection sequence from start to finish.

Study tender requirements and identify special conditions.

Revise or correct CAD drawings, if needed.

Conduct site visits as and when required.

Necessary Skill / Experience

Strong understanding of PEB erection sequence, QA, and QC checklists

Knowledge of the building and construction life cycle

Ability to review and approve loading points, levels, and connection details

Excellent mathematical, IT, and analytical skills

Experience in both PEB and conventional steel structure design, as well as RCC structure design (preferred)

Familiarity with IS and American codes

Working knowledge of STAAD, ETABS, RCDC, AutoCAD, Revit, and BIM (optional)

Ability to prepare Design Basis Reports (DBRs) and provide value engineering to meet client expectations

Skilled in tracking design changes and updating all stakeholders accordingly

Strong communication skills in English, Tamil, and Hindi

Graduate in Civil Engineering, with specialization in Structural Engineering

Membership with the Institute of Engineers; a Masters degree in Structural Engineering is preferred

Over 10 years of experience in structure-related work, particularly in site execution of PEB projects
