Stress & Lifing Engineer

As a Stress and Lifing Engineer at Rolls-Royce, you will be at the forefront of stress and lifing activities on the installed fleet. Your role involves conducting structural analysis of critical part components such as Fan discs, Compressor discs, blisks & drums, Turbine discs & cover plates, Mainline Shafts, and Stub-Shafts. These components undergo severe and complex loading conditions and are designed to meet high fidelity safe life requirements. Your responsibilities will include: - Conducting mechanical integrity, stress, and lifing assessments using finite element analysis and other numerical models. - Specifying and conducting mechanical experiments to underwrite designs and validate analytical or empirical models. - Identifying root causes and resolving problems through evaluative judgements and analysis. - Delivering against programme milestones within agreed cost, timescale, and quality requirements. - Acting as a point of contact between the mechanical integrity discipline and other functions and customers. To excel in this role, you should possess: - A Bachelor's degree or Master's in Engineering or a related discipline. - Knowledge and experience in Critical Part component lifing methods and analyses. - Proficiency in 2D & 3D finite element stress analysis tools. - Understanding of product integrity, liability, and aerospace certification frameworks. - Strong technical knowledge in mechanical design methodologies and cross-discipline engineering concepts.
