Stores Supervisor

Department: Stores / Inventory / Supply Chain

Job Summary:

We are seeking a reliable and experienced Stores Supervisor to oversee the day-to-day operations of our warehouse/stores department. The ideal candidate will be responsible for managing inventory, ensuring accurate stock levels, supervising store personnel, and maintaining a clean, organized, and efficient storage area to support production and business operations.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Supervise all daily activities within the stores/warehouse to ensure efficient stock handling and storage.
  • Monitor stock levels, conduct regular inventory counts, and reconcile discrepancies.
  • Coordinate with procurement and production departments to ensure timely availability of materials.
  • Maintain accurate records of stock movement using inventory management systems (ERP or similar).
  • Ensure proper receipt, inspection, storage, and issuance of raw materials, consumables, tools, and finished goods.
  • Implement and maintain FIFO, LIFO, or other inventory methods as applicable.
  • Ensure adherence to safety protocols and cleanliness standards in the store area.
  • Train and supervise storekeepers, clerks, and other store personnel.
  • Generate daily/weekly/monthly reports on stock status and inventory turnover.
  • Liaise with logistics and quality departments for incoming/outgoing goods and material verification.
  • Monitor and manage slow-moving, obsolete, or damaged stock.
  • Participate in audits and support compliance with company and regulatory policies.

Qualifications & Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree or diploma in Supply Chain Management, Logistics, Business Administration, or related field.
  • Minimum 2–4 years of experience in a warehouse/stores supervisory role, preferably in a manufacturing environment.
  • Familiarity with any ERP systems (e.g., SAP, Oracle, Tally) and strong computer skills (Excel, Word).
  • Sound knowledge of inventory control practices and warehouse management.
  • Strong leadership, organizational, and communication skills.
  • Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines.
  • Knowledge of safety standards and procedures in warehousing and handling.

Preferred Skills:

  • Experience with lean manufacturing or 5S warehouse practices.
  • Forklift or warehouse equipment handling certification (if applicable).

Working Conditions:

  • Based in a manufacturing plant/warehouse environment.
  • May require occasional extended hours, weekends, or shift work depending on production needs.
