Store Keeper – Job DescriptionPosition Overview

The Store Keeper is responsible for managing the overall inventory, receiving goods, maintaining stock levels, issuing materials, and ensuring the store operates efficiently. The role requires strong organizational skills, attention to detail, and the ability to maintain accurate records.

Key Responsibilities1. Inventory Management

  • Maintain accurate inventory records of all materials, tools, and equipment.
  • Update stock registers, bin cards, or digital inventory systems daily.
  • Conduct regular stock audits and report shortages or variances.
  • Implement FIFO / FEFO methods for proper stock rotation.

2. Receiving Materials

  • Receive incoming materials and verify quantity, quality, and specifications against purchase orders.
  • Inspect for damages, discrepancies, or incorrect items and report to the procurement/management team.
  • Properly label and store items in designated locations.

3. Issuing Materials

  • Issue materials to departments based on authorized requisitions.
  • Maintain records of all issued items and update stock levels immediately.
  • Ensure items are delivered safely and on time to the required department.

4. Store Organization

  • Keep the store clean, organized, and safe at all times.
  • Arrange materials systematically for easy identification and retrieval.
  • Ensure compliance with safety standards, especially for hazardous materials.

5. Documentation & Reporting

  • Maintain GRN (Goods Receipt Notes), issue slips, and stock ledgers.
  • Prepare daily/weekly/monthly inventory reports for management.
  • Assist in annual stock-taking activities and audits.

6. Coordination

  • Coordinate with procurement, accounts, production, and logistics teams.
  • Follow up with suppliers for replacements, pending deliveries, or shortages.
  • Assist in planning material requirements based on project progress.

Required Skills & Qualifications

  • Minimum 12th pass or Diploma in Store Management, Logistics, or related field (preferred).
  • Proven experience as a Store Keeper or Store Assistant.
  • Strong knowledge of inventory control and documentation.
  • Basic computer skills (Excel, ERP, inventory software).
  • Good communication and teamwork skills.
  • Ability to lift, move, and arrange material when required.
  • High level of accuracy, responsibility, and integrity.

Work Environment

  • Fast-paced environment in warehouse, factory, retail, or construction site.
  • Requires long periods of standing and manual handling of materials.

  • Based on experience and company policy.

Pay: ₹120,000.00 - ₹180,000.00 per year
