Storage Administrator - Net App

As a Storage Administrator at UST, you will be responsible for managing and supporting enterprise storage systems and backup solutions. Your role will involve overseeing SAN infrastructure, storage virtualization, and backup technologies, particularly with Commvault. It is crucial to proactively monitor system performance, optimize resources, and collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure data availability, integrity, and security. Key Responsibilities: - Manage, configure, and monitor enterprise storage systems such as NetApp, Pure Storage, Dell, and HP arrays. - Administer SAN infrastructure, including Fibre Channel and iSCSI protocols, zoning, LUN masking, and storage provisioning. - Implement and maintain backup and recovery solutions using Commvault, ensuring compliance with data protection policies. - Conduct regular backup validation, restore testing, and troubleshoot backup or storage-related issues. - Collaborate with IT teams for capacity planning, performance tuning, and disaster recovery strategies. - Document storage architectures, procedures, configurations, and incident reports. - Respond promptly to and resolve storage and backup-related incidents and service requests. - Stay informed about the latest trends in storage and backup technologies, and provide recommendations for improvements or upgrades. - Ensure adherence to security policies and data retention requirements. Required Skills & Qualifications: - Minimum 5 years of experience in enterprise storage administration and backup management. - Proficiency in NetApp, Pure Storage, and HP storage platforms. - Strong knowledge of SAN administration, Fibre Channel, iSCSI, and Commvault or similar backup tools. - Understanding of storage protocols, RAID levels, LUN management, and snapshot technologies. - Ability to efficiently troubleshoot hardware and software storage issues. - Excellent communication skills and the capacity to collaborate effectively across multiple IT teams.
