Start-Up Manager

As a Manager SUM at McCain Foods, located in Mehsana, Gujarat, you will play a crucial role in ensuring the successful implementation of Start-Up Management practices for all capital projects. Your responsibilities will include: Role Overview: You will be responsible for developing comprehensive Start-Up Management (SuM) plans, conducting planning of SuM activities, and creating initial Commissioning, Qualification, and Verification (CQV) and Ramp-Up Plans. You will work closely with plant operations, Technical operations, and engineering to ensure successful project execution, focusing on safety, food safety, quality, and continuous improvement. Key Responsibilities: - Develop comprehensive Start-Up Management (SuM) plans, including the SuM Management Plan. - Conduct planning of SuM activities, including budgeting for the start-up phase. - Manage interfaces with the engineering team to ensure commissioning and start-up engineering deliverables are met. - Lead the SuM process, including developing checklists, functional testing procedures, and conducting actual functional testing. - Implement risk management and mitigation strategies. - Lead the CQV process to ensure equipment, processes, and systems meet design requirements. - Promote and ensure a strong safety culture during the start-up phase. - Ensure that all SuM activities comply with food safety and quality standards. Qualifications Required: - Bachelor's degree in engineering, Operations Management, or a related field. - Minimum of 5-7 years of experience in a manufacturing or operations environment, preferably in the food processing industry. - Proven experience in start-up management, commissioning, and operational readiness for small to medium-sized projects. - Strong leadership and communication skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams. - In-depth knowledge of safety regulations, food safety standards, and quality assurance practices. - Proficiency in project management tools and methodologies. - Strong problem-solving abilities and attention to detail. - Ability to manage multiple tasks and priorities in a fast-paced environment.
