Staff/Senior DevOps Engineer (with Database focus)

As a Staff/Senior DevOps Engineer at HG Insights, you will be responsible for managing data persistence and search layers including ClickHouse, MongoDB, PostgreSQL, and Elasticsearch. Your expertise in cloud-native operations across AWS and GCP, CI/CD automation using GitHub Actions and ArgoCD, Kubernetes management (EKS, GKE), and Infrastructure-as-Code with Terraform will be crucial in ensuring the performance, security, and high availability of our systems. **Key Responsibilities:** - Administer, monitor, and optimize ClickHouse, MongoDB, PostgreSQL, and Elasticsearch clusters. - Implement scaling strategies, backup and recovery solutions, and security policies. - Troubleshoot Elasticsearch issues and maintain healthy indexes and data pipelines. - Conduct capacity planning and performance analysis for optimal database infrastructure utilization. - Configure detailed performance monitoring for databases including query analysis and resource utilization tracking. - Develop and maintain CI pipelines in GitHub Actions. - Configure ArgoCD for automated deployments to Kubernetes. - Manage GitHub repository including branching strategies and secrets handling. - Provision, scale, and monitor AWS EKS and GCP GKE environments. - Automate Kubernetes resource management and troubleshoot cluster issues. - Maintain legacy Terraform configurations and deploy infrastructure using Terraform Cloud. - Collaborate with engineering teams, optimize deployment flows, and own documentation. - Design and implement monitoring solutions using Datadog for complete visibility. **Required Skills & Qualifications:** - Total work experience: 10+ years with 5+ years in cloud DevOps and Kubernetes orchestration. - Direct expertise in ClickHouse, MongoDB, PostgreSQL, and Elasticsearch administration. - Proficiency in GitHub, GitHub Actions, ArgoCD, and Terraform. - Advanced scripting skills in Python and Bash. - Understanding of cloud security, IAM, persistent storage, and network best practices. - Experience in backup, recovery, and compliance for data and search systems. - Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, IT, or related field. - Excellent collaboration and communication skills. **Preferred Skills:** - Experience with policy-as-code, automated compliance, and troubleshooting complex deployments. - Knowledge of hybrid architecture and cloud cost optimization. - Familiarity with Elasticsearch scaling, tuning, and integration with other data platforms.,
