Staff Software Engineer, Search Intelligence

Role Overview: As a software engineer at Google, you will have the opportunity to work on next-generation technologies that impact how billions of users interact with information and each other. Key Responsibilities: - Lead the design and implementation of AI/ML systems to integrate Generative AI into core Google Search functionalities. - Architect scalable solutions for user interaction with generative AI models within the Search interface. - Collaborate with engineers, AI/ML researchers, and Product Managers to translate product goals into features, addressing technical challenges related to AI model deployment and performance optimization. - Drive technical direction within the team, mentor engineers, and foster a culture of innovation. - Evaluate and integrate AI/ML techniques and frameworks to enhance AI model capabilities. - Ensure that AI-powered features operate seamlessly at Google's scale. Qualifications Required: - Bachelor's degree or equivalent practical experience. - 8 years of experience with data structures/algorithms. - 5 years of experience with state-of-the-art GenAI techniques or GenAI-related concepts. - 5 years of experience testing and launching software products. - 5 years of experience leading ML design and optimizing ML infrastructure. - 3 years of experience with software design and architecture. Preferred Qualifications: - Master's degree or PhD in Engineering, Computer Science, or related field. - 8 years of experience in software development. - 3 years of experience in a technical leadership role. - 3 years of experience working in a complex, matrixed organization involving cross-functional projects.,
