Staff Nurse

Job Summary:

The Staff Nurse is responsible for delivering quality nursing care to admitted patients, supervising junior nurses, maintaining accurate documentation, and ensuring adherence to clinical protocols and safety standards.

Key Responsibilities:A. Patient Care Delivery

• Provide direct and professional nursing care to admitted patients.
• Monitor patient condition and report changes to the treating physician.
• Perform all nursing procedures including catheterization, IV insertion, wound dressing, feeding, etc.

B. Medication Management

• Administer prescribed medications and IV fluids accurately.
• Monitor for and report adverse drug reactions or allergies.
• Maintain proper records of drug administration.

C. Supervision & Mentorship

• Guide and support junior staff nurses and nursing aides.
• Help in training newly inducted nursing staff.
• Assist Ward In-Charge in daily nursing activities and duty allocations.

D. Documentation & Reporting

• Maintain patient charts, nursing notes, vitals monitoring sheets, and intake-output records.
• Ensure timely and accurate handovers during shift changes.
• Assist in preparing discharge and transfer documentation.

E. Emergency Handling

• Manage patient emergencies calmly and efficiently.
• Provide first-line care during Code Blue or crash situations.
• Perform CPR and basic life support when required.

F. Ward & Infection Control

• Ensure cleanliness and infection prevention in the ward.
• Follow hospital protocols for biomedical waste segregation and disposal.
• Coordinate with housekeeping and maintenance teams when required.

G. Communication

• Communicate clearly and empathetically with patients and their families.
• Provide health education and discharge instructions to patients and caregivers.
• Collaborate effectively with doctors, physiotherapists, and other departments.

Qualifications:

• Education: ANM or GNM or B.Sc. Nursing from a recognized institution
• Experience: 2 to 5 years of clinical experience in hospital ward settings
• Registration: Valid nursing registration is mandatory

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: ₹15,000.00 - ₹30,000.00 per month
