Description
The IVF OPD Nurse is responsible for assisting in day-to-day outpatient services, supporting fertility consultants, guiding patients through initial assessments, coordinating investigations, and ensuring smooth patient flow. The role involves a combination of clinical tasks, patient education, and co-ordination with other department specific to fertility care.Job Responsibilities
- Clinical Assistance:
- Assist doctors during patient consultations, gynecological examination,
- follicular scans, and procedures like IUI.
- Prepare patients for ultrasound, semen collection, endometrial biopsy, etc.
- Perform basic nursing procedures such as checking vitals, giving injections (e.g., trigger shot, progesterone), and sample collection when required.
- Ensure proper identification and labeling of samples (blood, urine, semen).
- Patient Coordination & Counseling:
- Guide new patients through registration, case history taking, and OPD flow.
- Educate patients about the treatment plan, medication protocols, and test schedules.
- Provide pre- and post-procedure instructions clearly (e.g., for IUI, OPU,FET.etc)
- Co-ordinate with Physician and Andrologist for their opinion and inform doctor and IP In-charge. Share the details with Front Office and IP Counselling team for further follow up with patients.

- Documentation & Records:
- Maintain accurate OPD records and ensure timely entry of clinical notes.
- Update the IVF register, patient history in system, and medication charts.
- Assist in preparing consent forms and ensuring they are signed and filed properly.
- Medication Management:
- Administer IVF-related injections (FSH, HCG, progesterone, etc.) as prescribed.
- Counsel patients on medication usage, dosage, timing, and side effects.
- Monitor and maintain cold chain for hormone injections.
- Infection Control & Patient Safety:
- Follow infection prevention protocols as per NABH standards.
- Disinfect OPD instruments and maintain clean consultation rooms.
- Ensure patients are handled with dignity, privacy, and confidentiality.
- Manage stock and inventory:
- Regular stock Audit and show the consumption as things used.

Qualifications And Prerequisites
- GNM / B.Sc Nursing / M.Sc Nursing
- Minimum 1 year experience in IVF OPD or general OPD preferred
- Registered with State Nursing Council
