Job Description

Staff Nurses

Key Responsibilities

Clinical Care

  • Provide comprehensive nursing care to critically ill patients in

    ICU/NICU

    .
  • Monitor vital signs, neurological status, ventilator parameters, and document accurately.
  • Administer medications, IV fluids, blood products, and injections as per doctors orders.
  • Assist in invasive and non-invasive procedures including intubation, catheterization, and resuscitation.
  • Maintain infection control practices and aseptic techniques at all times.

NICU-Specific Responsibilities

  • Provide specialized care to

    newborns and premature babies

    .
  • Monitor neonatal vitals, feeding, thermoregulation, and growth parameters.
  • Operate and monitor neonatal equipment (incubators, ventilators, phototherapy units).
  • Educate and counsel parents regarding neonatal care.

ICU-Specific Responsibilities

  • Manage ventilated and non-ventilated patients.
  • Handle emergency situations and code blue as per protocol.
  • Ensure proper use and maintenance of ICU equipment.

Documentation & Compliance

  • Maintain accurate nursing records, care plans, and medication charts.
  • Follow

    NABH, infection control, and patient safety guidelines

    .
  • Report incidents, medication errors, and adverse events as per policy.

Coordination & Communication

  • Coordinate with doctors, nursing supervisors, and support staff.
  • Participate in clinical rounds and handover processes.
  • Provide patient and family education and emotional support.

Qualifications & Experience

  • GNM / B.Sc Nursing / Post Basic B.Sc Nursing

  • Valid

    State Nursing Council Registration

  • 13 years experience

    in ICU/NICU (Freshers with ICU/NICU training may apply)
  • Certification in

    BLS / ACLS / NRP

    will be an added advantage

Skills & Competencies

  • Strong clinical and critical care skills
  • Knowledge of ICU/NICU protocols and equipment
  • Good communication and documentation skills
  • Ability to work in shifts and handle high-pressure situations
  • Team-oriented with compassionate patient care approach

Duty Schedule

  • Shift-based duties (Morning / Evening / Night)
  • As per hospital duty roster and staffing norms

  • Quality of patient care
  • Compliance with NABH and hospital policies
  • Documentation accuracy
  • Infection control adherence
  • Team coordination and patient satisfaction
