Job Title: Staff Nurse

Department: Nursing
Reports To: Nursing Supervisor / Nursing Superintendent

Job Summary

The Staff Nurse is responsible for providing quality nursing care to patients, ensuring patient safety, comfort, and well-being. The role includes assisting doctors, administering medications, monitoring patient conditions, and maintaining accurate nursing records while following hospital policies and ethical standards.

Roles & ResponsibilitiesPatient Care

  • Assess patients’ physical and emotional needs.
  • Monitor vital signs and record patient condition regularly.
  • Administer medications and injections as prescribed by the doctor.
  • Provide wound care, IV therapy, catheterization, and other nursing procedures.
  • Assist in admission, transfer, and discharge of patients.

Clinical Support

  • Assist doctors during examinations, procedures, and rounds.
  • Prepare patients for diagnostic tests and surgical procedures.
  • Maintain and operate medical equipment safely.
  • Ensure infection control practices are strictly followed.

Documentation & Reporting

  • Maintain accurate nursing notes and patient records.
  • Report any abnormal findings or emergencies to the doctor immediately.
  • Follow hospital protocols for incident reporting.

Patient & Family Education

  • Educate patients and attendants on treatment plans, medications, and post-discharge care.
  • Provide emotional support and reassurance to patients and families.

Ward Management

  • Ensure cleanliness and safety of the ward/ICU.
  • Check availability of medicines, consumables, and emergency equipment.
  • Follow duty rosters, shift handovers, and hospital discipline.

Compliance & Ethics

  • Adhere to hospital policies, NABH guidelines, and nursing ethics.
  • Maintain patient confidentiality at all times.
  • Participate in training programs and continuous professional development.

Qualifications & Skills

  • Diploma (GNM) or B.Sc Nursing.
  • Valid Nursing Council registration.
  • Good communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work in shifts and handle emergency situations.
  • Compassionate, responsible, and team-oriented.

Experience

  • Fresher or experienced candidates may apply (experience preferred in hospital settings).

Job Types: Full-time, Permanent

Pay: ₹15,000.00 - ₹30,000.00 per month
