Staff ML Engineer, AI Innovation and Research

Job Description: As a software engineer at Google, you will be developing next-generation technologies that impact billions of users worldwide. Responsibilities: - Work on ambient related areas foundational for Aura within the AirStream team. - Develop production capabilities for seamless and high-performance interaction between on-device, cloud LLMs, or LLMs in a private environment. - Lead the productionization of horizontal technology by establishing infrastructure and pathways, managing customer onboarding, and facilitating the upstreaming of user feedback and data to AI Innovation and Research (AIR) and Google DeepMind (GDM) teams for Hybrid, in-context learning, Nano, and Private Inference. - Drive the productionization of architecture that seamlessly spans devices and servers, while remaining adaptable to various compute and power capabilities. Qualifications Required: - Bachelor's degree or equivalent practical experience. - 8 years of experience in software development. - 5 years of experience leading ML design and optimizing ML infrastructure. - 5 years of experience in Speech/audio, reinforcement learning, ML infrastructure, or another ML field. - 5 years of experience testing and launching software products. - 3 years of experience with software design and architecture. Preferred Qualifications: - Master's degree or PhD in Engineering, Computer Science, or a related field. - 8 years of experience with data structures and algorithms. - 3 years of experience in a technical leadership role. - 3 years of experience working in a complex, matrixed organization involving cross-functional projects.
