STAFF Engineer - Robotics AND Breakthrough Technology

Job Purpose

To lead the design, development, and deployment of AI solutions across domains such as natural language processing, computer vision, and multimodal systems. The role combines technical expertise with managerial responsibilities, including leading a team of 7-10 AI engineers, overseeing end-to-end project delivery, and aligning AI initiatives with organizational strategy.

The focus is on driving innovation with foundation models, fine-tuning LLMs, implementing Retrieval-Augmented Generation (RAG), Agentic AI and ensuring scalable, efficient, and responsible use of AI in business scenarios.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead and mentor a team of 710 AI engineers, ensuring effective distribution of tasks, career development, and performance management.
• Oversee and review the design, fine-tuning, and optimization of large language models (LLMs), generative AI systems.
• Drive implementation of RAG pipelines and domain-specific AI applications using internal and external knowledge bases.

• Define and manage project roadmaps, ensuring timely delivery of AI solutions aligned with business priorities and global team.
• Collaborate with product owners, business stakeholders, and cross-functional teams to identify use cases and scale AI solutions.
• Ensure strong engineering practices in developing efficient data pipelines for preprocessing, augmentation, and training.
• Support the establishment of best practices for responsible AI, including fairness, privacy, transparency, and governance.
• Stay abreast of advancements in LLMs, generative diffusion models, AI frameworks,

• Act as a bridge between leadership and technical teams by providing clear project status, risk assessments, and mitigation plans.

Experience Required

• Overall Experience of more than 10 years. 3-4 years of Relevant experience on AI and a proven experience leading and managing AI/ML engineering teams (7-10 team members) with successful project deliveries.
• Hands-on expertise in building generative AI applications (chatbots, copilots, document intelligence, Agents) with measurable business impact.
• Knowledge of Project management tools and practices (Agile, JIRA, Confluence).
• Strong skills in Python and AI frameworks (PyTorch, Hugging Face, LangChain, RAG frameworks).
• Experience defining project KPIs, resource allocation, and ensuring delivery timelines.
• Exposure to Copilot-style applications integrated into enterprise tools (Teams, Outlook, Excel, Confluence, Jira).
• Understanding of vector databases (FAISS, Pinecone, Weaviate, ChromaDB) for retrieval.
• Knowledge of APIs, deployment tools (FastAPI, Docker, Kubernetes), and MLOps practices.
• Prior experience deploying and managing AI systems on cloud platforms (Azure OpenAI, AWS Bedrock).
• Familiarity with Data Analytics tools and Databricks
• Demonstrated success in leading enterprise-scale AI programs with cross-functional collaboration.
• Familiarity with RLHF, LLM security, bias mitigation, and governance frameworks.
• Contributions to open-source projects or published work in AI [plus]

Preferred Qualifications

• Masters or Ph.D. in Computer Science, AI/ML, Data Science, or related fields.
• PMP certification [Preferred]
