We are looking for Software Engineers to join our engineering team to play a crucial role in developing the Vyatta Network Operating System (NOS), which we recently acquired. Your work will support our customers in building and deploying their virtualized networks. In this role, you will have the opportunity to work on a legacy product that is being sunset. While primarily supporting the legacy product, the skills you acquire during this period will be transferrable to our cutting-edge SAOS 10X platform. As you progress, you will increasingly be involved in the development and support of the SAOS 10X platform. Your responsibilities will include developing embedded software on the Vyatta NOS, a modified Debian Linux operating system. You will participate in all stages of software development, including requirements analysis, architecture, design, implementation, and testing. Troubleshooting software issues and providing customer and verification support will be part of your daily tasks. You will design and develop unit tests and test-automation suites, collaborate with Product Owners to incorporate new features and technologies into software applications without compromising performance, and influence and/or define software architecture to enhance resiliency, debuggability, and maintainability. The ideal candidate will have a minimum of Bachelor's/Master's degree in computer science/engineering or equivalent degree with 5-8 years of relevant experience. Familiarity with network merchant silicon chipsets and whitebox platforms, excellent analytical, problem-solving, and programming skills (C, C++, Python), experience in designing and developing L2/L3 networking technologies, and in-depth understanding of Linux OS and open-source software development are must-haves. Knowledge of software development for Data Forwarding paths (Software, Hardware), troubleshooting large-scale deployments, familiarity with manageability frameworks such as Yang/XML, experience with virtualization technologies like Intel DPDK, SR-IOV, etc., and proficiency in using the Atlassian tool suite, Git, and Jenkins are also required. Additionally, the successful candidate will be self-motivated with a strong sense of ownership, excellent teamwork and collaboration skills, ability to multitask and work independently with minimal guidance, openness to continuous learning and self-improvement, excellent communication and technical documentation skills, and excellent organization skills to manage time, resources, and priorities. This may include Embedded Firmware, kernel/user mode device drivers, stack extensions, debug, and test utilities as well as automated unit/system testing. The device drivers will allow the User application, Middleware, and Operating system to take full advantage of the feature-rich hardware. The firmware configures, controls, and monitors the communication device and interacts with the host system via device drivers to expose hardware features of the devices. Firmware code may also run as a standalone library within the device driver itself. As a part of the Software team, you will be responsible for architecture, design, implementation, testing, and integration of the firmware rolled into Ethernovia's SDK. This firmware is built ground-up for safety-critical automotive applications.
