Job Description

As a Site Reliability Engineer II at JPMorgan Chase within Corporate Technology, you will play a key role in ensuring system reliability at one of the world's most iconic and largest financial institutions. You will utilize technology to solve business problems and implement software engineering best practices to strive towards excellence. In this role, you will have the opportunity to work independently on small to medium projects and collaborate with cross-functional teams to enhance your understanding of JPMorgan Chase's business and relevant technologies. You will be responsible for executing small to medium projects independently with initial guidance, eventually transitioning to designing and delivering projects autonomously. By leveraging technology, you will write high-quality, maintainable, and robust code following best practices in software engineering. Additionally, you will participate in diagnosing and resolving incidents, working with others to address problems at their root, and proactively eliminate toil within your role through systems engineering or updating application code. It is essential to understand observability patterns and aim to implement and enhance service level indicators, objectives monitoring, and alerting solutions for optimal transparency and analysis. To qualify for this role, you should have formal training or certification in Site Reliability concepts and a minimum of 2 years of applied experience. Experience in maintaining a Cloud-based infrastructure is required, along with familiarity with site reliability concepts, principles, and practices. Proficiency in observability tools such as Grafana, Dynatrace, Prometheus, Datadog, Splunk, and others is necessary. Additionally, familiarity with containers or common Server OS like Linux and Windows is preferred. It is beneficial to have emerging knowledge of software, applications, and technical processes within specific technical disciplines, as well as continuous integration and continuous delivery tools like Jenkins, GitLab, or Terraform. The ideal candidate should be able to work effectively in a large, collaborative team, communicate ideas with peers and managers, and adapt work plans to changes in responsibilities and projects. Eagerness to engage in learning opportunities to enhance project execution effectiveness is essential. Furthermore, the ability to apply existing and new system processes, methodologies, and skills to contribute to system development is crucial. Preferred qualifications include general knowledge of the financial services industry.,
