Job Description

Role & responsibilities

  • Perform

    piping stress analysis

    using CAESAR II.
  • Collaborate with design engineers to review and optimize piping designs, taking into account factors such as temperature, pressure, vibration, and seismic loads.
  • Conduct pipe flexibility calculations to ensure they can expand, contract, and move appropriately under different operating conditions.
  • Identify and evaluate potential stress hotspots in piping systems and propose design solutions to mitigate risks.
  • Generate detailed technical reports documenting stress analysis results and design recommendations.
  • Collaborate with construction and maintenance teams to ensure that pipes are installed according to design specifications and safety standards.
  • Participate in safety reviews and risk analysis to identify potential issues in the design or installation of piping systems.
  • Stay up to date on regulations and industry standards related to piping system design and integrity.
  • Prepare

    Project Design Basis

    for stress analysis.
  • Develop and maintain

    Stress Critical Line Lists

    .
  • Perform

    piping stress analysis

    using CAESAR II.
  • Generate

    Stress Analysis Reports

    in project-specific deliverable formats.
  • Mark-up isometrics with stress-related data such as routing changes, support locations and types, etc., for

    3D model updates

    .
  • Provide

    Piping Load Summaries

    as inputs for Civil/Structural engineering teams.
  • Prepare

    datasheets

    ,

    RFQs/MRs

    ,

    Technical Bid Analysis (TBA)

    , and

    Vendor Document Reviews (VDR)

    for bought-out supports (e.g., spring hangers).

Knowledge & Skills Requirements:

Essential Technical Competencies:

  • Thorough knowledge of

    ASME B31.3

    code requirements related to stress and safety.
  • Proficiency in

    flange leakage

    evaluation and

    nozzle displacement

    calculations.
  • Strong grasp of

    pipe support types and construction

    .
  • Understanding of

    spring hanger selection criteria

    .
  • Experience with

    buried piping stress analysis

    .
  • Ability to

    navigate 3D models

    using

    Navisworks

    .

Desirable Additional Skills:

  • Familiarity with

    WRC calculations

    .
  • Experience in

    Nozzle stiffness evaluation using NozzlePro

    .
  • Exposure to

    non-metallic piping stress analysis

    (e.g., GRP systems).
  • Strong

    English communication skills both

    written and verbal.
