Job Description

Role & responsibilities

MEP Design & Coordination:

Design and develop MEP systems including HVAC, plumbing, fire fighting, electrical, and ELV systems as per project requirements.

Prepare and review BOQ, specifications, and tender documents for MEP packages.

Collaborate with architects, civil engineers, and other stakeholders for design integration.

Ensure compliance with local codes, safety standards, and sustainability guidelines.

Conduct load calculations, equipment selection, and energy modeling.

Perform value engineering and cost optimization without compromising functionality.

Attend design review meetings, coordinate with consultants and contractors.

Support procurement and tendering process with technical inputs.

Review and approve shop drawings, material submittals, and mock-ups.

Conduct site inspections to ensure adherence to design and resolve technical issues.

Techno-Commercial Management:

Prepare and review technical specifications, RFQs, and tender documents.

Evaluate vendor proposals for MEP systems from a technical and commercial perspective.

Collaborate with procurement teams for negotiation and finalization of contracts.

Provide cost optimization strategies without compromising design intent and performance.

Conduct technical feasibility and value engineering studies.

Track MEP-related budgets, timelines, and risk factors across multiple projects.

Skills & Competencies

Technical Skills:

Proficiency in AutoCAD, Revit MEP, and other relevant design tools.

Understanding of BIM (Building Information Modeling).

Familiarity with MEP software like HAP, Dialux, ETAP, and Pipe Flow Expert.

Strong knowledge of construction materials and MEP installation practices.

Ensure compliance with local codes, NBC, ECBC, and if possible international standards like ASHRAE, NFPA, etc.

Commercial & Management Skills:

Strong analytical and cost estimation abilities.

Knowledge of contracts, tendering, and procurement procedures.

Excellent negotiation and vendor management skills.

Budgeting, scheduling, and risk analysis capabilities.

Soft Skills:

Strong communication and coordination abilities.

Team player with leadership potential.

Detail-oriented and proactive in problem-solving
