Sr. Java Engineer with HCL Commerce Knowledge

Role Overview:

Role & responsibilities

• Monitor, maintain, and enhance the performance of the Motorsports E-Commerce platform built on HCL Commerce.
• Provide L1L3 support across application components including storefront, backend APIs, order processing, payment gateway (Stripe), and customer accounts.
• Troubleshoot and resolve application incidents, bugs, and integration issues within defined SLAs.
• Perform daily health checks, job monitoring, and log analysis to ensure application stability.
• Work closely with cross-functional teams (infra, QA, business users) to triage and resolve production issues.
• Support change requests, enhancements, and patches as part of continuous improvement.
• Coordinate and support deployment activities across staging and production environments.
• Maintain documentation for knowledge base articles, SOPs, and incident resolutions.
• Ensure adherence to security, compliance, and best practices for enterprise-grade commerce applications.
• Provide on-call support coverage (shared between PST and IST resources) during business hours and critical windows.

Technical Skills:

• Strong experience in

  Java / Java EE

  (5+ years)
• Proven experience with

  HCL Commerce (WCS v8 or higher)

• Deep understanding of

  payment flows

  , especially

  custom payment plugin architecture

• Experience with

  Stripe Java SDK

  and REST APIs
• Solid understanding of

  webhooks

  ,

  PCI compliance

  , and

  idempotency

• Familiarity with

  JSP/Servlets

  and optionally

  React-based storefronts

• Comfortable working with

  relational databases (DB2 / Oracle / SQL Server)

Tools & Platforms:

• WebSphere Liberty / HCL Commerce runtime
• Git, Maven, Jenkins
• Stripe Dashboard and test environments

Soft Skills:

• Strong communication and documentation skills
• Ability to work independently with minimal guidance
• Willingness to join occasional PST meetings and provide flexible support if needed
