Your responsibilities will include designing and developing scalable backend services utilizing PHP (with a preference for Laravel), creating modern and modular frontend components using React.js, architecting APIs and data models employing MySQL and best practices, taking ownership of full-stack modules from design to deployment, leading key technical decisions such as architecture, stack choices, and roadmap feasibility, collaborating with board members and founders on technical strategy, building and nurturing the engineering team, mentoring developers, and establishing code and quality standards, as well as overseeing release cycles, infrastructure decisions, and long-term tech scalability. The ideal candidate for this role is a senior builder who excels in product-centric environments and demonstrates ownership mentality. You should have 8-10 years of full-stack development experience encompassing PHP, React, and MySQL, along with a proven track record in leading engineering teams or managing core systems. Additionally, a solid understanding of system design, APIs, and scalable architecture is crucial, as well as the ability to think strategically and work closely with leadership and the board. Comfort in articulating technical vision externally to partners, investors, and potential candidates, an execution-first mindset combined with a long-term vision, and prior involvement in foundational responsibilities within early-stage startups are desirable attributes.
