Role Purpose
Development of Door mechanisms
Reporting to

Responsibilities/ Task
Key Responsibilities with brief description according to priority
- Development & design know-how of Door mechanisms like hinges, latches & locks, checker arms, window winders, etc.
- Initial Technical Evaluation of Suppliers and support during nominations.
- Cross-functional Collaboration with Design, manufacturing, QA, SQA & Supplier to meet cost & project timelines.
- Conducting component level testing & monitoring results/reports
- Conducting and reviewing TKO's and collaborating with Cross functional teams during Sign-off of multiple requirements.
- Testing & Proto build: support prototype builds activities, conduct design reviews, address engineering changes based on physical testing and team feedback to verify performance and quality
- Supplier Management: Engage with suppliers to ensure deliverables meet quality, timing, and cost targets, supporting purchasing, costing and supply chain teams as required.
- Candidate should have executed at least couple of Development projects throughout the product lifecycle (design assessment for tooling to SOP).
- Risk Management: Identify and mitigate risks related to design, manufacturing, and program timelines, escalating issues as needed.
- Having 7-10 years of experience in development of Doors mechanisms like hinges, latches & locks, checker arms, window winders, etc.
- Strong communication skills to analyse and deal with critical events during product development cycle
Key Performance Indicators
- Ensuring timely completion of project phases Vs planned.
- Monitoring adherence to industry standards, regulations, functionality & Safety compliance
- Document and Maintain records & coordinating Key points across Cross functions.
- Supporting and providing solutions during Field Issues.

- Understanding of design, 2D drawings, DVP reports & coordination with teams.
- Awareness of test requirements for the mechanism parts
- Awareness of automotive standards and regulations related to safety, environmental, and quality requirements
- Manufacturing & Tool design: Knowledge of automotive manufacturing processes like drawing, forming, Cam tooling, hot stamping, hydroforming, etc.
- Proficiency in data management and collaboration platforms to coordinate with design, manufacturing, and quality teams
