Description
As a Databricks Administrator/Engineer at LabCorp, you will play a crucial role in supporting Tier 1 Business Intelligence (BI) analytic server administration. Your responsibilities will include the administration and support of internal-facing Databricks servers, supporting Databricks developers/development, application integration, and end-user setup and administration. **Key Responsibilities:** - Provide technical expertise in deploying applications on AWS/Azure Databricks platform. - Apply knowledge of Azure to drive solutions, support the development team, and create documentation. - Manage cloud-based big data platforms, including permissions, AD group integration, and service principals within Databricks. - Set up and manage permissions for Databricks catalogs, schemas, and jobs. - Familiarity with cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, GCP) and integration with Databricks environments. - Install, configure, and maintain Databricks clusters and workspaces. - Monitor cluster performance, resource utilization, and troubleshoot issues for optimal performance. - Implement and manage access controls, security policies, and encryption mechanisms to protect data. - Provide technical support, troubleshooting, and training to Databricks users. - Optimize cluster configurations for performance and cost-effectiveness. - Monitor and manage auto-scaling to ensure efficient resource allocation. - Stay up-to-date with security best practices, compliance requirements, backup, and disaster recovery strategies. - Collaborate with data engineers to integrate Databricks with other data sources and warehouses. - Manage platform costs and resource utilization, maintaining detailed documentation of configurations and procedures. **Qualifications Required:** - Bachelor's Degree in computer science or an analytical discipline or equivalent experience. - Proven experience in Databricks server administration. - 7+ years of overall IT experience with 5+ years in Databricks Administration in a high availability architecture. - Proficient in troubleshooting techniques, memory management, performance management, backups, recovery, Hive connections, Kafka, Spark, Map Reduce, and more. - Excellent written and verbal communication skills. - Ability to work independently with self-motivation, commitment, and integrity. - Willingness to learn new technologies quickly and effectively. - Translate complex business analysis requirements into technical designs.
