Sr Backend Engineer NodeJS / Express - Chennai, India

We are seeking a talented and experienced Senior Backend Engineer to become part of our expanding team. Your primary responsibility will involve the design, development, and maintenance of the backend for our applications. Working in close collaboration with front-end developers, product managers, and designers, you will contribute to providing outstanding user experiences. Your responsibilities will include designing, developing, and maintaining highly scalable and reliable backend APIs utilizing Node.js and Express.js. You will be tasked with implementing robust error handling and logging mechanisms, optimizing backend performance for enhanced efficiency and scalability, and crafting clean, maintainable, and well-documented code. Collaboration with front-end developers to ensure seamless integration between the frontend and backend will be a crucial aspect of your role. Furthermore, participation in code reviews and knowledge sharing activities will be expected as part of the team. To qualify for this role, you should hold a Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or a related field, or possess equivalent experience. With over 10 years of experience in backend development using Node.js and Express.js, you should demonstrate in-depth knowledge of Node.js concepts such as the event loop, asynchronous programming, and modules. Proficiency in constructing RESTful APIs, familiarity with relational and non-relational databases (e.g., MySQL, PostgreSQL, MongoDB), and experience with cloud platforms like AWS, GCP, Azure (a plus) are essential. Moreover, experience with containerization technologies like Docker, Kubernetes (a plus), strong problem-solving and debugging skills, effective communication and collaboration abilities, and the capacity to work both independently and as part of a team are desired traits. Familiarity with CI/CD pipelines (e.g., Jenkins, Travis CI), unit testing frameworks (e.g., Jest, Mocha), GraphQL, and message queues (e.g., Kafka, RabbitMQ) will be advantageous in this role. Staying abreast of the latest trends and technologies in Node.js and backend development will also be an ongoing expectation.,
