Job Description

Role & responsibilities

Design and develop Special Purpose Machines, jigs, fixtures, and automation equipment based on customer or in-house requirements
Create conceptual layouts, 3D models, and detailed 2D drawings using CAD software (e.g, SolidWorks, AutoCAD, CATIA, Creo)
Conduct feasibility studies and design calculations to ensure performance, durability, and safety
Prepare Bill of Materials (BOM), part drawings, and assembly drawings
Collaborate with the electrical, pneumatic, and control teams to integrate mechanical systems with automation components
Support procurement and fabrication teams by providing technical details and resolving design-related queries
Participate in machine assembly, testing, and commissioning at the shop floor and/or client site
Work on design modifications and continuous improvements for existing machines
Ensure compliance with relevant safety standards and design guidelines
Maintain proper documentation and revision control for design files.

Preferred candidate profile

Bachelors Degree / Diploma in Mechanical Engineering or a related field
2-7 years of experience in SPM design or automation equipment design
Proficiency in CAD software such as SolidWorks, AutoCAD, or Creo
Strong knowledge of mechanical components, actuators, pneumatics, hydraulics, and motion systems
Understanding of manufacturing processes (machining, sheet metal, welding, assembly)
Good analytical and problem-solving skills
Ability to work independently and in cross-functional teams
Effective communication and documentation skills.
