Job Description

Role Overview: You will be responsible for maintaining financial reporting integrity, reviewing all data included in financial reports for accuracy and completeness, and performing trial balance and general ledger reviews. You will engage with the IFRS reporting team to ensure completion of reporting actions based on past-quarters group queries. Additionally, you will analyze movements in balances and variances, identify business reasons, and work closely with stakeholders across Country finance, Business finance, and Group Finance teams. Key Responsibilities: - Maintain financial reporting integrity and review all data in financial reports for accuracy and completeness - Perform trial balance and general ledger reviews - Engage with IFRS reporting team to ensure completion of reporting actions - Analyze movements in balances, variances, and identify business reasons - Work closely with stakeholders across Country finance, Business finance, and Group Finance teams - Comply with all governance requirements including process metrics review, service review calls, and BCP - Coordinate with internal and external auditors to provide timely information and support - Build strong functional and business knowledge in the teams - Have excellent knowledge in TP systems and hands-on experience in clearing the TPGL exceptions - Work closely with the R2R controllers Country Lead / Unit Head in managing the Financial Controls & Risk function - Ensure financial control policies and compliance monitoring measures are in place and being adhered to - Embed the Controllership + Reporting model ensuring the end client is at the center - Improve External and Internal GIA audit grades - Test and sign off existence of financial control measures when launching new products, ventures, subsidiaries, and specific projects - Support day-to-day controls, periodic monitoring activities, timely identification and reporting of risks and losses, and effectiveness of risk mitigation actions Qualifications: - Minimum 1-2 years of work experience in financial control/operational risk functions of FIs, internal audit of FIs, or external audit from Big 4 firms; or over 2 years of experience in the FA domain - CA/CWA preferred - Exposure to SAP, PSGL, work experience in TPGL module preferred - Exhibiting influential capabilities across departments in complying with the General Ledger Controls and Reconciliation Policies - People handling skills and strong interpersonal skills required - Strong communication skills and experience in liaising with Senior Management/stakeholders - Experience in monitoring and implementing financial control measures and other risk management matters Company Details: Standard Chartered is an international bank with a history of more than 170 years.
