Role Overview: As a Specialist I, Cloud Engineer at EY, you will provide intermediate level technical support for small to mid-size cloud-based projects. You will be responsible for designing, implementing, and deploying cloud platforms to support and meet business needs. Your role will involve identifying and recommending opportunities for improvement, monitoring cloud technology platforms" efficiency, and maintaining technical knowledge of cloud software and infrastructure. Additionally, you will develop technical standards, mentor staff and IT project teams, administer systems, and oversee hybrid cloud environments while troubleshooting cloud system issues. Key Responsibilities: - Designs, implements and deploys cloud platforms to support and meet business needs. Identifies and recommends opportunities for improvement and performance issue solutions. - Provides intermediate level technical support and monitors multiple cloud technology platforms efficiency through the use of monitoring tools and applications. Maintains comprehensive technical knowledge of cloud software and infrastructure platforms. - Develops technical standards. Tests and evaluates IT vendor products. Reviews configuration parameters to optimize system performance and maximize operation uptime. - Trains and mentors staff and IT project teams, providing guidance and consultation as required. Updates, writes, and maintains documentation for the department. - Administers systems by actively managing patching, routine maintenance, and backups to include the scheduling and execution of related tasks. Evaluating system performance and capacity in a large distributed infrastructure environment. - Participates in special projects and performs other duties as assigned. - Maintains the security posture of cloud infrastructure, ensuring alignment with compliance standards and organizational policies. - Develops and applies automation scripts to support deployment, scaling, and maintenance of cloud resources. - Oversees hybrid cloud environments, optimizing performance and uptime across platforms. - Troubleshoots cloud system issues, identifying root causes and implementing preventive solutions. Qualifications Required: - Minimum 3 years of experience in cloud engineering, infrastructure management, or cloud operations. - Bachelors degree (B.E./B.Tech in Computer Science/IT) or equivalent experience. - Hands-on expertise with AWS Services, Cloud-based databases, CI/CD, Pipeline Development, Cloud Platform Development, Cloud-Based Application Development. - Able to work independently, passionate about solving points of pain for the developer community, scrum/agile methodologies. - Basic troubleshooting skills in cloud infrastructure, networking, security best practices, and performance optimization.
