Dear Candidate, We are seeking a compassionate and skilled Special Educator to join our team at Whitefield Global School. The Special Educator will be responsible for supporting students with diverse learning needs, ensuring their academic and social development in an inclusive environment. This role involves creating individualized education plans (IEPs), implementing tailored instruction, and collaborating with other educators, parents, and staff to promote the success of students with special needs. Key Responsibilities : Assess and Evaluate : Conduct thorough assessments to understand the educational, emotional, and developmental needs of students with special educational needs (SEN). Regularly review student progress and adjust learning strategies accordingly. Individualized Education Plans (IEPs) : Develop, implement, and monitor Individualized Education Plans (IEPs) for students. Collaborate with other educators, counselors, and parents to ensure the IEPs meet the specific needs of each student. Instructional Support : Provide differentiated instruction and support to students with a variety of learning disabilities and behavioral challenges. Modify curriculum and teaching methods to accommodate students individual needs. Use a variety of teaching aids, techniques, and resources to enhance learning. Behavior Management : Create and implement behavioral strategies to support students with social and emotional challenges. Establish a safe, positive, and supportive classroom environment conducive to learning. Collaboration : Work closely with classroom teachers to adapt general education lessons for students with special needs. Collaborate with other professionals (speech therapists, occupational therapists, counselors) to support students overall development. Communicate effectively with parents regarding their child’s progress and behavior. Documentation and Reporting : Maintain accurate records of student progress, behavior, and attendance. Prepare and present reports for IEP meetings, parent-teacher conferences, and school reviews. Professional Development : Attend workshops, conferences, and training sessions to stay updated on the latest strategies and research in special education. Apply best practices to improve teaching effectiveness and student outcomes. Qualifications : Education : Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Clinical Psychology or Special Education or a related field. Certification or licensure in special education as required by the local education authority. Experience : Previous experience in special education or working with students with learning disabilities or developmental delays is highly preferred. Familiarity with IEP development, behavioral strategies, and accommodations. Skills : Strong knowledge of different learning disabilities and strategies for teaching students with special needs. Ability to adapt and modify lessons to meet the individual needs of students. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to collaborate effectively with students, staff, and parents.
