Job Description

To ensure effective and meaningful inclusion of Children With Special Needs (CWSN) in the school, by providing specialised educational support, classroom accommodations, remedial interventions, and guidance to teachers and parents, in line with CBSE’s inclusive education directives and relevant disability legislation.​

Key Responsibilities

A. Identification & Assessment

  • Assist in early identification of students with learning disabilities, intellectual disabilities, autism spectrum disorder, ADHD, sensory and other developmental needs through screening, observation, and standardised tools where appropriate.​
  • Maintain individual profiles and basic functional assessments for CWSN to plan suitable interventions.

B. Individualised Educational Planning (IEP)

  • Prepare, implement, and periodically review Individualised Education Plans (IEPs) for CWSN, with clear academic, behavioural, and functional goals.
  • Collaborate with subject teachers, counsellor, and parents to align classroom strategies with IEP targets.​

C. Classroom Support & Remediation

  • Provide in-class support and pull-out remedial sessions to address reading, writing, numeracy, attention, and other learning difficulties.
  • Suggest and help implement curriculum adaptations, differentiated instruction, and suitable teaching–learning materials to support inclusion in mainstream classrooms.​

D. Coordination for CWSN Provisions (CBSE)

  • Guide the school and parents on CBSE and government provisions for CWSN (concessions, accommodations, exemptions, scribe rules, extra time, etc.). ​
  • Assist with documentation and coordination required for Board examinations and certification of disability where relevant.

E. Teacher and Parent Support

  • Conduct orientation and capacity-building sessions for teachers on inclusive practices, classroom strategies, and behaviour management for diverse learners.​
  • Provide parents with guidance on home-based support, therapy referrals, and progress updates, maintaining sensitivity and confidentiality.

F. Collaboration & Reporting

  • Work closely with School Counsellor, Class Teachers, Exam In-charge, and School Management to ensure a coordinated approach to inclusion.
  • Maintain proper records of interventions, IEPs, progress notes, and submit periodic reports to the Principal on CWSN support and outcomes, without compromising student confidentiality.​

  • Patience, empathy, and ability to work with diverse learning and behavioural needs.
  • Good communication skills with children, parents, and staff.
  • Ability to design and use specialised teaching–learning materials and assistive strategies.

Work Schedule

  • Full-time presence during school working hours and availability for scheduled parent interactions, workshops, staff meetings and any other requirements from Principal.
  • Active participation in School Inclusion Committee / School Safety & CWSN-related committees as constituted by the school.

Job Types: Full-time, Part-time, Contractual / Temporary
Contract length: 11 months

Pay: ₹8,000.00 - ₹20,000.00 per month
