SONO TYPIST

Position Title: Sono Typist
Department: Radiology / Sonography
Reports To: Head of Radiology / Senior Sonographer

Job Summary

The Sono Typist is responsible for accurately typing, formatting, and processing medical reports generated by radiologists/sonographers. This role requires speed, accuracy, attention to detail, and familiarity with medical terminology, particularly related to sonography and radiology.

Key Responsibilities

• Transcribe ultrasound and radiology reports dictated by sonographers and radiologists.
• Ensure accuracy in spelling, grammar, and medical terminology.
• Format reports in line with hospital and departmental standards.
• Maintain confidentiality of patient data and reports at all times.
• Coordinate with sonographers, radiologists, and administrative staff for report clarifications.
• Update and manage patient records in the hospital information system.
• Meet turnaround time (TAT) requirements for report completion.
• Perform quality checks to minimize errors in reports.
• Assist with clerical and administrative tasks in the radiology department as required.

Qualifications & Skills

• Minimum: High School Diploma or equivalent (Graduate preferred).
• Certification or diploma in Medical Transcription / Typing is an advantage.
• Typing speed: Minimum 40–50 wpm with high accuracy.
• Strong knowledge of medical terminology (radiology/sonography preferred).
• Good computer skills (MS Office, Hospital Information Systems).
• Excellent communication and listening skills.
• Ability to work under pressure and maintain deadlines.
• Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.

Work Environment

• Hospital-based; typically within the Radiology/Sonography Department.
• Requires working closely with medical professionals.
• May involve shift duties depending on hospital policy.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: ₹10,000.00 - ₹16,000.00 per month
