Job Description

Role Overview: As a member of the wireless access point software team at Cisco, you will be involved in building a variety of Wi-Fi access points, including the latest Wi-Fi 7 APs. Your role will encompass platform bring-up for prototype hardware, kernel, driver integration, Wi-Fi features, wireless security, BLE radio, and other advanced functionalities. You will have the opportunity to work with cutting-edge technologies for wireless infrastructure devices and contribute significantly to enhancing connectivity experiences for critical applications worldwide. Key Responsibilities: - Review product requirements document and understand customer use cases. - Collaborate with senior architect to design software functional specifications for specific features. - Develop features in coordination with senior development engineers and participate in unit and integration testing. - Create Test Plans based on customer use cases and engage in functional quality testing and end-to-end QA testing. - Automate use cases using Python or Ruby. - Contribute to innovative software test initiatives. - Share knowledge through brown bags, tech talks, and promoting engineering standard methodologies. - Ensure product stability with a strong customer focus. Qualifications Required: - 1 to 3 years of experience with BS/MS in Computer Science or equivalent. - Proficiency in Python scripting/automation. - Ability to write professional production code in C and C++. - Familiarity with core network protocols such as TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP, ARP. - Strong interpersonal skills and ability to collaborate effectively. - Experience in troubleshooting, coding, testing, and debugging. - Proactive attitude towards learning and problem-solving. - Ability to multitask in dynamic environments. - Experience in working with customers, understanding networking infrastructure, and resolving network issues. - Previous exposure to software quality assurance, testing, or test automation.
