Job Description

Role Overview: The Cisco Distributed System Engineering (DSE) group is focused on developing products for large networks. The team is working on building next-generation infrastructure to support AI/ML workloads. As an Engineer in this team, you will be involved in designing, developing, and testing Layer 2/Layer 3 feature sets for web scalars and service providers. Your role will include working on various features such as Layer 2, Layer 3, control plane handling, and implementing security features to protect routers from DDOS attacks. Key Responsibilities: - Designing and developing Layer 2/Layer 3 feature sets for web scalars and service providers. - Working on control plane handling and implementing security features for router protection. - Having knowledge of system-level architecture of Forwarding and Infrastructure is an added advantage. Qualifications Required: - MS/BS degree in CS/EE/CE or a technical equivalent. - 6+ years of software development experience with a Network Operating System. - 5+ years of embedded software development experience using C, C++, and/or Python. - 3+ years of data plane experience with NPU, DPU, or software data plane. - 3+ years of experience in data-plane forwarding technologies such as L2, L3, VXLAN, segment Routing, and/or MPLS. - Experience in algorithms, data structures, analytical reasoning, and debugging. - Familiarity with networking protocols and technologies.
