Software Specialist (Snowflake)

As a motivated Python and Snowflake Developer with around 2 years of hands-on experience, your role at PTC will involve supporting data engineering initiatives by building, optimizing, and maintaining scalable data pipelines and integrations between Python applications and Snowflake's cloud data platform. Key Responsibilities: - Develop and maintain data pipelines using Python for ETL/ELT processes. - Write efficient SQL queries and scripts to process and analyze data in Snowflake. - Design, create, and maintain Snowflake schemas, tables, views, and stored procedures. - Implement and schedule data jobs using Snowflake Tasks, Streams, and Snowpipe. - Optimize Python code and SQL logic for performance and cost-efficiency. - Participate in code reviews, testing, and documentation of data workflows. Required Skills and Experience: - 2+ years of experience in software or data engineering using Python. - Good understanding of Snowflake architecture, including virtual warehouses, micro-partitions, and storage/compute separation. - Proficiency in SQL and familiarity with Snowflake-specific features (e.g., semi-structured data, time travel, streams/tasks). - Experience with data ingestion tools (Snowpipe, API-based ingestion, or ETL frameworks). - Familiarity with version control (Git) and basic DevOps practices. - Strong problem-solving skills and ability to work independently on tasks. Preferred Qualifications: - Experience with dbt data orchestration tools. - Familiarity with cloud platforms like AWS, GCP, or Azure. - Basic understanding of data modeling and analytics workflows. - Exposure to CI/CD for data pipelines. Education: - Bachelors degree in Computer Science, Data Engineering, Information Systems, or related field.
