Software Specialist (Snowflake)

You will be responsible for building, optimizing, and maintaining scalable data pipelines and integrations between Python applications and Snowflake's cloud data platform. Your main tasks will include developing and maintaining data pipelines using Python for ETL/ELT processes, writing efficient SQL queries and scripts to process and analyze data in Snowflake, designing, creating, and maintaining Snowflake schemas, tables, views, and stored procedures, implementing and scheduling data jobs using Snowflake Tasks, Streams, and Snowpipe, optimizing Python code and SQL logic for performance and cost-efficiency, as well as participating in code reviews, testing, and documentation of data workflows. The ideal candidate should have at least 2 years of experience in software or data engineering using Python. A good understanding of Snowflake architecture, including virtual warehouses, micro-partitions, and storage/compute separation is required. Proficiency in SQL and familiarity with Snowflake-specific features (e.g., semi-structured data, time travel, streams/tasks) are essential. Experience with data ingestion tools (Snowpipe, API-based ingestion, or ETL frameworks) is preferred. Familiarity with version control (Git) and basic DevOps practices, as well as strong problem-solving skills and the ability to work independently on tasks, are also necessary. Preferred qualifications include experience with dbt data orchestration tools, familiarity with cloud platforms like AWS, GCP, or Azure, basic understanding of data modeling and analytics workflows, and exposure to CI/CD for data pipelines. A Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Data Engineering, Information Systems, or a related field is required for this position.
