Software Senior Engineer

As a Senior Software Engineer at Dell Technologies, you will be part of the Software Engineering team responsible for delivering next-generation application enhancements and new products. Your role will involve developing cutting-edge VDI-thin client software solutions across Linux platforms, innovating software and hardware architectures, and ensuring alignment with customer requirements and business outcomes. Your deep technical knowledge and track record of innovation in AI, GenAI, virtualization, and enterprise software will be essential for success in this role. Key Responsibilities: - Develop scalable and secure VDI-thin client OS and management software across Linux platforms (Ubuntu, Debian, BSD) - Create system-level solutions integrating AI workflows, GenAI, and virtualization technologies such as Citrix, VMware, and VDI - Optimize software-hardware configurations for enhanced datacenter performance - Generate intellectual property through invention disclosures and open-source contributions - Identify and communicate differentiation opportunities to stakeholders and participate in end-to-end development and deployment of next-gen solutions aligned with business goals Qualifications Required: - 4 - 8 years of experience in software development, including handling customer issues and escalations - Proven track record of delivering complex system software solutions for various flavors of Linux, with expertise in OS internals, virtualization, distributed systems, and AI workflow applications - Hands-on technical proficiency in coding (C, C++, Linux kernels), debugging, and enterprise cluster deployments with benchmarking across compute, network, and storage - Strong knowledge of SDLC, STLC, DevSecOps, Agile methodologies, and CI/CD pipelines - Skilled in vendor engagement, with the ability to build technical relationships and influence next-generation technology designs Desirable Qualifications: - Engineering or Masters Degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or related field - Experience driving innovation in GenAI, cloud-native development, and open-source ecosystems - Linux Community contributions Join Dell Technologies, a unique family of businesses dedicated to transforming how individuals and organizations work, live, and play.
