Position Summary:

We are seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented Software Release Manager to join the Product Development (PD) Platform Operations team at Ford Motor Company. In this role, you will manage the end-to-end software release lifecycle for mission-critical platforms such as 3DX and Teamcenter, which support Ford's global engineering and product innovation ecosystem.

You will be responsible for planning, coordinating, and executing releases across multiple repositories and environments, ensuring that deployments are stable, secure, and timely. This position requires close collaboration with Development, QA, DevOps, and Platform Engineering teams, applying CI/CD best practices, DevOps principles, and Infrastructure-as-Code methodologies to drive operational excellence.

Key Responsibilities:

1. Release Management

Develop and maintain comprehensive release schedules, milestones, and timelines using Jira or similar tools.

Plan, coordinate, and execute releases across development, testing, and production environments.

Facilitate release readiness reviews, go/no-go decisions, and post-release retrospectives.

Act as the central point of contact for all release-related communications, escalations, and issues.

Manage emergency and hotfix releases, ensuring minimal downtime and risk.

Maintain accurate and transparent communication with stakeholders regarding release status, risks, and dependencies.

2. Version Control & Code Management

Implement and manage semantic versioning strategies across all code repositories.

Enforce Git best practices including branching models (GitFlow, Trunk-based), tagging, and code promotion workflows.

Maintain repository structure, access controls, and ensure traceability of artifacts.

Oversee artifact storage, tagging conventions, and ensure immutability of released builds.

3. Build & Deployment Automation

Design, develop, and optimize CI/CD pipelines using GitHub Actions, Tekton, or similar automation tools.

Monitor build health, address pipeline failures, and continuously improve release automation workflows.

Integrate SonarQube for code quality assurance and security scanning within CI/CD workflows.

Collaborate with platform engineers on Infrastructure-as-Code (IaC) implementations for scalable deployments.

Manage environment-specific configurations and ensure consistent multi-stage deployments across development, QA, staging, and production.

4. Platform & Cloud Operations

Support releases and operational health for key platforms like 3DX (Dassault Systmes) and Teamcenter (Siemens PLM).

Work in cloud-native environments such as Google Cloud Platform (GCP), leveraging services like **Cloud Run
