Software Principal Engineer-Networking

Role Overview: You will be joining the Software Engineering team at Dell Technologies in Chennai as a Software Principal Engineer. In this role, you will be responsible for developing sophisticated systems and software for the next generation of networking products. You will work at the cutting edge, utilizing advanced technologies, tools, and methodologies to design and develop software for various platforms, peripherals, applications, and diagnostics. Key Responsibilities: - Mentor team members in design collaboration, code reviews, development tools, and processes - Participate in the full software development life cycle including development, testing, continuous delivery, and support - Collaborate as an active member of an agile team to realize features through development, test, and delivery Qualifications Required: - 9-14 years of software development experience in networking products with in-depth knowledge of networking concepts - Hands-on experience in implementing switching protocols (VLAN, LACP, STP, RSTP, MSTP), IPv4/IPv6 routing protocols (OSPF, BGP, ISIS), and IP multicast protocols (PIM, MSDP, MLD, IGMP) - Good understanding of different Network Processing Units (Broadcom or equivalent) - Strong development/programming experience in C/C++/Golang Desirable Qualifications: - Bachelors or masters degree in computer science or a related field - Experience with the SONiC operating system and platform software in networking products About the Company: Dell Technologies is a unique family of businesses dedicated to helping individuals and organizations transform how they work, live, and play.
