About the Position:

We are seeking an experienced Development Manager to lead multiple Agile development teams working on the Solifi Product suite. This role requires a combination of strong technical acumen and people management skills. The Development Manager will be responsible for driving software development and product enhancements, transitioning products to microservice-based architecture, and collaborating closely with cross-functional teams, including QA, Product Management, and Operations

Roles and Responsibilities:

Lead and manage high-performing engineering teams responsible for core development and product enhancements.

Oversee product development using technologies such as Grails, Java/J2EE, Angular, Spring, Spring Boot, Oracle, PostgreSQL, and SQL Server (knowledge of Unibasic is a plus).

Translate product requirements into technical user stories and prioritize them within Agile product backlogs.

Ensure timely and high-quality delivery of product features aligned with business objectives.

Guide teams through microservices migration and architecture modernization efforts.

Conduct performance evaluations, mentoring, coaching, and career development of team members.

Hire and onboard engineers to build a scalable and effective team.

Collaborate with Product Owners, Scrum Masters, and stakeholders for planning, reviews, and retrospectives.

Resolve technical blockers and ensure the effective execution of agile ceremonies.

Maintain product integration with third-party tools and other Solifi products.

Review code, provide architectural guidance, and enforce engineering best practices.

Participate in technical design reviews and take ownership of proposed solutions, ensuring delivery meets success criteria.

Gather and analyze team performance metrics for continuous improvement.

Review key metrics such as defect density, defect backlog, time spent, and team velocity; take corrective and preventive actions as needed.

Stay current with evolving technologies and assess their applicability for organizational use.

Represent development in design reviews and demos with internal and external stakeholders.

About You:

Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field; advanced degree preferred.

10 years of software development experience, with at least 3 years in a people management role. Proven success in managing Agile/Scrum teams within a product development environment.

Strong hands-on experience with Grails, Java/J2EE, Spring, Spring Boot, and Microservice architecture.

Excellent knowledge of relational databases such as Oracle, PostgreSQL, and SQL Server.

Familiarity with Unibasic, product integrations, and legacy modernization (good to have).

Experience in designing and migrating systems to microservices architecture.

Skilled in modern development practices including TDD, CI/CD, and DevOps pipelines.

Strong leadership, interpersonal, and communication skills.

Ability to coach teams, conduct reviews, and manage technical performance effectively.

Knowledge of cloud platforms and tools (e.g., AWS, Docker, Kubernetes) is a plus.

Prior experience with SaaS solutions, web technologies, and building secure, scalable architectures.
