Software Engineer in Test

As an SDET at Arcana, your role involves the design and implementation of automated tests and test environments to ensure the efficient functioning of technology and meet software quality goals. You must have a passion for data and technology, be a problem solver, and strive to enhance software quality within a team environment. **Responsibilities:** - Collaborate with various teams at Arcana to understand automation needs. - Contribute to and maintain test automation framework development. - Lead programmatic best practices by example; be a hands-on programmer. - Estimate efforts, identify risks, devise mitigation plans, and meet project automation schedules. - Monitor automation metrics for continuous quality and process improvements. **Requirements:** - 3 to 4 years of strong experience developing test automation for frontend automation using Playwright, Selenium, or other browser automation tools. - Experience automating GraphQL APIs, REST APIs, etc. - Expert-level knowledge in one or more programming languages: Python, Java, JavaScript, etc. - Experience with industry best practices in software development processes: unit testing, code coverage, object-oriented design, code quality, automation, code reviews, etc. - Proven ownership and delivery of automation for a sizable product or product component; strong sense of independence and self-direction. - Experience working with large codebases, writing new code, and maintaining existing code. - Ability to work with cross-functional teams, prioritize automation requirements, and deliver in a timely fashion. - Experience working with CI/CD tools. - Proficient in Git, Bitbucket, or other version control tools. - Working knowledge of SQL, GCP/AWS, and database systems.
