Software Engineer II - Python Developer

As a Software Engineer II at JPMorgan Chase within the Corporate & Investment Bank Technology team, you will be an integral part of an agile team dedicated to enhancing, designing, and delivering the software components of the firm's cutting-edge technology products in a secure, stable, and scalable manner. In this role, you will work on executing software solutions, contributing to the design and development process, and troubleshooting technical issues within various components of a technical product, application, or system. This position offers you the opportunity to develop your skills and gain valuable experience to advance in your role. Your responsibilities will include executing software solutions using innovative approaches, working on critical solutions for business trading and risk management platforms, ensuring the creation of secure and high-quality production code, and participating in the modernization efforts by migrating and building applications on AWS. You will also be responsible for producing architecture and design artifacts for complex applications, analyzing and synthesizing data sets to improve software applications, identifying hidden problems and patterns in data to enhance coding hygiene and system architecture, and contributing to software engineering communities of practice. To excel in this role, you are required to have formal training or certification in system design concepts along with at least 2 years of applied experience, practical experience in system design, application development, testing, and operational stability. You should be familiar with agile methodologies, have experience with modern programming languages and database querying languages, and possess hands-on work experience with trading and risk management platforms. Proficiency in Python, Java, Object-Oriented Programming, Spring Boot framework, and related technologies is essential. Additionally, you must have a demonstrable ability to code in one or more languages, understand version control systems like Git, and have knowledge of containerization technologies such as Docker and orchestration tools like Kubernetes. Emerging knowledge of cloud technologies and other technical processes within a technical discipline will be beneficial. Preferred qualifications for this role include familiarity with modern front-end technologies, experience with cloud platforms like AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud, knowledge of JavaScript, ReactJS, and other front-end technologies, a good understanding of Microservices architecture and RESTful API design, and familiarity with database technologies such as SQL, NoSQL, and ORM frameworks.
