Software Engineer II - Mainframes

As a Software Engineer III at JPMorgan Chase within the Consumer & Community Banking Team, you will be a seasoned member of an agile team responsible for designing and delivering trusted market-leading technology products in a secure, stable, and scalable manner. Your role involves executing software solutions, design, development, and technical troubleshooting with the ability to think creatively to build solutions or address technical challenges effectively. You will create secure and high-quality production code, maintain algorithms, and produce architecture and design artifacts for complex applications. Key Responsibilities: - Execute software solutions, design, development, and technical troubleshooting with a focus on innovative problem-solving - Create secure and high-quality production code and maintain algorithms in sync with appropriate systems - Produce architecture and design artifacts for complex applications, ensuring design constraints are met - Gather, analyze, synthesize, and develop visualizations and reporting from diverse data sets for continuous improvement - Proactively identify hidden problems and patterns in data to enhance coding hygiene and system architecture - Contribute to software engineering communities of practice and explore new technologies - Foster a team culture of diversity, opportunity, inclusion, and respect Qualifications Required: - Formal training or certification in software engineering concepts with a minimum of 3 years of applied experience - Hands-on practical experience in system design, application development, testing, and operational stability - Proficiency in COBOL, JCL, DB2/IMS, VSAM, CICS - Experience in developing, debugging, and maintaining code in a corporate environment with modern programming languages and database querying languages - Overall knowledge of the Software Development Life Cycle - Solid understanding of agile methodologies like CI/CD, Application Resiliency, and Security - Demonstrated knowledge of software applications and technical processes within a technical discipline - Experience working in the Banking domain Additional Details: - The company values diversity, opportunity, inclusion, and respect within the team culture.
