Job Description

Role Overview: You will be joining Cisco Secure Common Services Engineering as a Software Engineer, where you will be part of a team of cybersecurity experts and innovative engineers dedicated to supporting products and developers across Cisco Security. The team values transparency, takes bold steps together, and puts people first. Your main responsibility will be to contribute to the Common Services Platform Engineering team by providing the basic building blocks for the Cisco Security Cloud. Your mission will be to ensure that the products work seamlessly together, ultimately enhancing the user experience for customers. Key Responsibilities: - Build cloud applications for various platform initiatives. - Develop data pipelines in a scalable cloud environment. - Collaborate closely with product management to identify, scope, and estimate work for the team. - Assist in Proof of Concepts (POCs) and conduct technology comparisons both quantitatively and qualitatively. - Take ownership of significant portions of the platform, participating in the design, delivery, and maintenance of the code. - Mentor junior engineers to help them produce their best work. - Review code and handle production issues. Qualifications Required: - Agile, pragmatic, and hardworking developer with strong programming skills. - Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with a keen eye for aesthetic design and code, and the ability to autonomously plan and prioritize work based on team objectives. - 5+ years of experience in designing and development. - Proficiency in Golang (required), with knowledge of python/nodejs as a plus. - Experience with devops tools such as Docker, Jenkins, Terraform, Ansible, Packer. - Proficient in building CI-CD pipelines. - Experience in writing and optimizing SQL Queries. - Ability to solve complex problems and provide solutions. - Familiarity with Git, Confluence, and Jira. - Clear communication skills and the ability to summarize information concisely. - Experience working with public cloud providers like AWS/GCP/Azure. - Good to have knowledge in data streaming technologies like Spark, Kafka, etc.,
