Job Description

About the role-

Demonstrate best-in-class software engineering skills to develop secure, tested, optimised, scalable code.
Collaborate with designers, product managers, ops engineers, QA engineers, and other teams and stakeholders to solve innovative problems using out-of-the-box solutions.
Write code that an SDE unfamiliar with the software can understand.
Identify and resolve the root cause of software defects.
Identify and document product architecture and solution design
Communicate clearly and effectively via GitHub, Slack, MS Teams, JIRA, etc., to keep all stakeholders in the loop on relevant issues.
Interact thoughtfully and professionally with everyone, including non-technical colleagues.
Work with central technology teams to establish and adhere to best practices.
Present practical input for strategic technology decisions.

Comply with all professional departmental and company best practices.

About you-

3-5 years of professional backend engineering experience
Strong proficiency in Java and TypeScript with Node.js frameworks
Solid experience designing and consuming RESTful APIs; familiarity with GraphQL is a plus.
Expertise with relational databases (PostgreSQL/MySQL) and one or more NoSQL stores (Redis, MongoDB, DynamoDB, or similar); strong SQL skills and data modelling.
Hands-on with cloud platforms (AWS) and containerization/orchestration (Docker, Kubernetes).
CI/CD practices and tooling (GitHub Actions).
Knowledge of security best practices, such as OAuth2/OIDC, JWT, TLS, secrets management, and least privilege (IAM).
Strong testing culture: unit/integration/e2e testing, contract testing (JUnit, Jest, Testcontainers, Pact).
Excellent communication, collaboration, and system design skills.
