You will be a?Software Engineer?on the Azure PostgreSQL migration platform team.?You will design, develop, test, and deploy features and enhancements that enable customers to migrate and?optimize?their PostgreSQL databases on Azure.?

What?you'll?do

Build and innovate: You will use your skills and experience in?services,?PostgreSQL, Oracle, Azure, and other technologies to build and improve the migration platform and related services.

Collaborate: You will work closely with other engineers, product managers, and customers to deliver features and enhancements that meet their needs and expectations.

Enhance customer experience: You will ensure that the migration platform is easy to use, robust, and secure, and that it provides customers with the best possible price/performance ratio.

Qualifications

Required/MinimumQualifications

• ??Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, or related technical discipline
• 7+ years of software development experience using C, C++, go, Java orC#oran equivalent programming language
• Strong technical prowess, including understanding of algorithms, systems architecture, and end-user experience.
• Background of complex software systems.??

Other Requirements

Abilityto meet Microsoft, customer and/or government security screening requirementsarerequiredfor this role. These requirements include, but are not limited to the following specialized security screenings: Microsoft Cloud Background Check:

• This position will berequiredto pass the Microsoft Cloud background check upon hire/transfer and every two years thereafter.

Preferred/Additional Qualifications

• ??Experience with internals of PostgreSQL or similar Enterprise Database Management system is a plus
• Experience building Distributed Systems
• 3+ years of experience developing andmaintaininghigh-performance libraries or software engineering?

Responsibilities

??As?the Software Engineer 2, you will?be responsible for?the following:

• You willbe responsible forbuilding and managing and innovating in the space of database migration solutions and helping grow the PostgreSQL business at Azure.
• Participate in code reviews to ensure coding standards are followed.
• Identify needs for a broad versus selected approach in testing mechanisms and make informed decisions to implement the most effective tests.
• Maintain operations of live service as issues arise on a rotational, on-call basis.?
